A Legacy of Steel Casting Innovation and Growth
Eagle Alloy’s foundry history began in 1979 with a small team, one loyal customer, and a commitment to producing high-integrity steel castings in West Michigan. From the start, Eagle Alloy embraced innovation. The company was among the first in the U.S. to use landfill methane gas as an energy source and adopted solidification simulation to improve casting outcomes. It also implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques that cut average lead times from four weeks to just four days in most cases.
More than four decades later, we’ve grown into a nationally recognized steel foundry serving over 250 customers across 25 industries. Our facility spans over 290,000 square feet and supports two primary casting methods, shell molding and airset casting, designed to meet the most demanding performance and dimensional standards.
As the founding company of the Eagle Group, Eagle Alloy remains the largest and most experienced member, anchoring the Group’s vertically integrated approach to casting and machining.
Foundry History Rooted in Expertise
How Our Foundry History Shaped Who We Are Today
Eagle Alloy was founded by Mark Fazakerley, an engineer, and Wayne Jarvis, a metallurgist—two high school friends who recognized a growing need for custom steel castings in the Midwest. From day one, the company focused on delivering precision shell-mold castings in carbon and stainless steel. John Workman soon joined the leadership team, contributing his business expertise to fuel further growth.
Muskegon’s industrial workforce and strategic proximity to Detroit and Chicago made it the ideal home base. Our first customer from 1979 is still with us today—proof that strong relationships and steady performance stand the test of time.
As market needs evolved, Eagle Alloy expanded its services. In 1991, we launched Eagle Precision to offer investment castings. In 1999, we founded Eagle CNC Technologies to provide in-house machining services, and in 2007, we merged with Westech Corporation, a robust machine shop in our area, to greatly expand machining services. In 2023, we completed the acquisition of Eagle CNC, ensuring even tighter integration between casting and machining operations.
